As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will complete routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access points, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors while documenting key activity. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and timely communication with clinical leadership and/or local law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout interior areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or theft, and to identify hazards such as unsecured doors or restricted-area access issues.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying authorization, monitoring entry points during patrol, and completing visitor and/or vendor screening per site policy.
  • Complete required reports and documentation for incidents, patrol activity, and policy exceptions, and communicate observations to the appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
