Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or 2 years of security supervisor and/or manager experience or 3 years of security experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and/or credentials, and document visitor and contractor activity in accordance with post instructions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual activity.
  • Support staff and visitors with directions, entry procedures, and other access-related questions while maintaining professional communication and attention to detail.
