About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Technician in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a dynamic government transportation location, where you will help monitor entry points, conduct screening procedures, and support access control operations. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen individuals, personal property, and/or carried items at designated entry points in accordance with location policies, post orders, and applicable government-related procedures.
  • Monitor entry and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or authorization, and report unusual activity, prohibited items, or policy concerns to the appropriate contact.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting observations and supporting site personnel during security-related events.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, screening areas, and perimeter as assigned, with working environments and conditions that may vary by site.
