About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Screening Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • Tuberculosis testing and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with DPSS/DHS COLA requirements.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following site-specific access control procedures, screening entry requests, and supporting security-related protocols for a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and controlled access points, verify identification and/or credentials, document visitor activity, and report unusual situations in accordance with site policies.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining awareness of movement through designated areas, enforcing posted rules, and addressing questions regarding entry procedures professionally.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter as assigned, observing for security-related concerns and documenting findings according to post orders.
