As a Security Officer Access Control in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying badges and visitor access, conducting routine patrols, and supporting X-ray screening operations as needed. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and help prevent loss-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor entry and exit points at a logistics and distribution location; verify credentials, authorize access according to site procedures, and maintain required visitor and vehicle records.
  • Screen and direct delivery personnel, contractors, and commercial drivers to designated check-in areas, staging locations, and facility points of contact.
  • Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unauthorized access and other security-related concerns.
