About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Monitor in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, where you will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, conduct routine patrols, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a dynamic technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access while maintaining accurate access records and reporting unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for security-related concerns, access control issues, and/or conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Communicate with site contacts, staff, and/or arriving guests regarding entry requirements, delivery procedures, and visitor processing while supporting daily security-related operations.
