Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, and supporting authorized entry at a utilities location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and other controlled access points to help to deter unauthorized access, document security-related concerns, and report unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, while communicating with site contacts and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for security-related issues, damaged barriers, and restricted area concerns.
  • Maintain accurate logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and support the implementation of site policies and emergency response activities.
