As a Security Officer - Access Control in Long Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer in a transportation location, where you will help manage access control, verify badges and visitor entry, monitor assigned areas, and support daily security-related operations. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all persons at the location by following site-specific procedures, managing access points, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit activity for employees, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors by checking identification, credentials, and authorized access status.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related matters according to site guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, gate areas, loading and unloading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Maintain accurate logs of visitor, vehicle, and/or delivery activity, and communicate relevant updates with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
