About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. At a dynamic logistics and distribution location, Access Control Officers manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and conduct routine patrols to help to deter incidents. This driving position may require operating a vehicle in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy. You will deliver professional communication and customer service while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, innovative team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access and delivery records.
• Coordinate access for employees, contractors, delivery drivers, and vendor personnel in accordance with site requirements and established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
