About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Specialist in Myerstown, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site entry, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and provide outstanding customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers. You will help maintain a professional presence that supports a secure environment while using communication and computer skills to document security-related activity. Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204): Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets, including familiarity with email applications, word processing software, and other relevant digital tools.
  • Security Experience - 6+ Months (C112): Candidates must possess a minimum of six months of relevant security experience. This includes knowledge of data protection protocols, cybersecurity measures, and the ability to identify and respond to potential security threats.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control requirements, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, screening visitors and contractors, maintaining visitor logs, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help identify unauthorized access and report unusual activity.
  • Document daily activities, access-related events, incidents, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site reporting procedures.
