About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Toronto, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will support access control by greeting employees and visitors, verifying credentials, managing visitor check-in, and monitoring entry points and cameras. You will also complete routine patrols, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site teams to help reduce incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an industrial manufacturing location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing deliveries and service providers to the proper check-in process.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, gates, and other access control systems, and report irregular conditions to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or loss.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications, written reports, and documentation.
  • Support inbound and outbound vehicle and material flow by confirming shipping and receiving documentation as directed by site policy and escalating discrepancies through the chain of command.
