About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Spartanburg, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and maintain clear visitor and vehicle logs. You will remain highly visible, communicate professionally with drivers and team members, and report security-related observations. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access at entry points by checking identification, verifying appointments and/or delivery documentation, issuing visitor credentials, and directing drivers to designated docks and staging areas.
• Monitor and document inbound and outbound traffic including employees, contractors, carriers, and deliveries, maintaining accurate logs and reporting irregularities per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notification of site contacts and/or emergency services, and completion of required reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas such as entrances, parking areas, trailer yards, and perimeter gates, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
