About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Specialist in South Hill, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and communicating professionally with employees and guests. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor and control access to manufacturing and industrial facilities, including verifying credentials, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized personnel, deliveries, and contractors according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating observations to appropriate site contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facility entrances, production areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
  • Prepare accurate reports and logs for access activity, incidents, patrol observations, and other security-related events.
