About The Position
The Des Plaines Public Library is looking for a part-time Security Monitor, a responsible, service-oriented individual to provide a safe, friendly, and functional environment for patrons and staff. This position requires the ability to exercise sound judgement in difficult situations.
Requirements
- High School Degree
- Previous experience in security or a related field
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Handling emergency situations
- De-escalating patron conflicts
- Opening and closing the building
- Making regular rounds
- Documenting safety issues
- Assisting with setting up and taking down library programs
