About The Position

Working as part of a small team, the Monitor will be responsible for the activities listed below. The setting is a community based facility serving adult probationers with a history of criminal behavior and addiction. The Monitor is responsible and accountable for monitoring clients and for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and clients. S/he will ensure that clients enter and exit the building in an appropriate manner and remain in assigned areas. S/he will be responsible for monitoring and collecting urine drug screens from clients.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in the criminal justice field.
  • Must be able to work some evenings and cover additional shifts as needed
  • Must have visual and auditory acuity in order to maintain security of the center.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk during the work day

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor clients in all phases of daily routines including break periods.
  • Monitor all educational and clinical classes/groups
  • Take accurate attendance of all clients.
  • Maintain accurate communications log entries.
  • Collection and documentation of urine screens
  • Transport participants to and from the center in company van
  • Write incident reports as needed and communicate concerns to program management
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and trainings as directed.
  • Prevent crisis situations from escalating by intervening and counseling clients.
  • Provide support and assistance in any crisis situation.
  • Maintain work schedule as directed.
