About The Position

The Security Department plays a vital role in maintaining safe, secure, and respectful environments across Father Joe’s Villages. Through access control, monitoring, and incident reporting, the department supports the well-being of clients, staff, and visitors while modeling professionalism, sound judgment, and respect in every interaction. As a Security Monitor, you will serve as the first point of contact for many people entering Father Joe’s Villages facilities. You will help monitor access, provide information and directions, and support safety by observing and reporting concerns. This role is ideal for someone who is welcoming, observant, organized, and calm under pressure. You will play an important part in helping create a safe and respectful environment while working closely with the Security team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of customer service, front desk, hospitality, security support, or related experience.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office or similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in security, public safety, reception, or access control roles.
  • Experience working in healthcare, social services, shelters, or nonprofit environments.
  • Experience monitoring CCTV or similar systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or experience serving multilingual communities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact respectfully with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients, tenants, staff, and visitors and provide clear directions and information.
  • Screen individuals entering facilities using tools such as CCTV, intercom, or access systems.
  • Monitor activity at assigned posts and support crowd management when needed.
  • Notify Security Officers of alarms, safety concerns, or suspicious activity.
  • Report safety hazards or policy violations to the appropriate team members.
  • Document incidents and observations clearly and accurately.
  • Ensure required logs and paperwork are completed correctly and on time.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a welcoming and respectful environment.
  • Participate in required trainings and follow organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties to support department and organizational needs.
