About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a Security Monitor I, Community Corrections, to supervise the facility population and help maintain safety, security, and sanitation in a residential setting. The role provides for the care, custody, and control of residents and establishes a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The position pays $17.12 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
• Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to complex issues.
• Must be available to work any hours and any shift.
• Must complete pre-service and other training programs as required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in the operations of a correctional facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents and report suspicious activities or violations of policies, procedures, or regulations by residents or other individuals.
• Conduct resident counts, searches, room inspections, and vehicle searches as required.
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing as needed or directed by facility administration.
• Process residents for intake and discharge in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Monitor resident worker activities, provide necessary instruction, and apply standards and procedures for the completion and quality of work performed by residents, where applicable.
• Perform rescue functions during accidents, emergencies, and disasters, including administering basic emergency medical aid and CPR, physically removing people from dangerous situations, and securing and evacuating people from confined areas.
• Help maintain facility safety, security, and sanitation.
