About The Position

The Security Manager manages day-to-day security and life-safety operations across Overture Center facilities and events. This role supports safe, welcoming, and compliant operations by supervising security staff, implementing procedures, coordinating incident response, and supporting emergency preparedness. The Security Manager collaborates with internal partners and external agencies to integrate security considerations into event planning, facility use, daily operations, and incident follow-up. This role balances operational leadership, customer-focused service delivery, risk mitigation, staff accountability, and timely escalation of security concerns. This position has an anticipated work schedule of Tuesday - Saturday 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in security, public safety, emergency management, risk management, or related work required.
  • Experience supervising security staff or leading teams in public-facing, hospitality, entertainment, or large-venue environments required.
  • Knowledge of security operations, emergency management, and life-safety best practices.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, access control, and public venue security practices.
  • Knowledge of departmental staffing, scheduling, resource coordination, and contract or vendor support practices.
  • Skill in implementing operational plans, standard operating procedures, and security protocols.
  • Skill in leading teams through clear expectations, accountability, coaching, and documentation.
  • Skill in analyzing risk, incidents, and operational data to inform decisions and improvements.
  • Skill in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication.

  • Ability to sit for up to 3-4 hours and stand or walk for up to 1-2 hours while supporting security operations, meetings, monitoring activity, or moving between work areas.
  • Occasional bending, squatting, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level, twisting, grasping, fine manipulation, carrying, and lifting while supporting security operations and incident response.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally during incident response, event support, or security-related operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, radio, and through video conferencing platforms.
  • Ability to move throughout Overture facilities, public areas, back-of-house areas, security posts, loading areas, and performance venues.
  • Visual acuity to read and produce documents, review camera or system displays, observe activity, and monitor equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public safety, emergency management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting incident response, investigations, access control, patrol operations, and emergency preparedness preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, lived experience, and relevant professional experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily security and safety operations across the facility and events to ensure consistent, high-quality protection, risk mitigation, and customer-focused service delivery.
  • Implements security policies, emergency procedures, and standard operating procedures to align daily practice with best practices, legal requirements, and organizational priorities.
  • Supervises departmental staffing, schedules, assignments, and performance to build an inclusive, well-trained, and accountable security team.
  • Coordinates emergency preparedness, incident response, and crisis management activities to support effective coordination, timely decision-making, and clear communication during incidents.
  • Monitors security posts, patrol activity, access control, incident reporting, and daily operations to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patrons, artists, staff, and guests.
  • Supports departmental budget, resources, purchasing, and vendor or contract coordination to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with approved plans.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Facilities, Guest Services, Production, and Human Resources to integrate security considerations into event planning, facility use, and daily operations.
  • Serves as liaison with external agencies and partners during assigned operations to support coordinated responses, regulatory compliance, and strong community relationships.
  • Reviews incidents, identifies trends, and recommends improvements to strengthen safety, security operations, training, and documentation.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned to support Security and Safety operations.
