About The Position

The Security Manager provides leadership and oversight of hospital security operations to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and facilities. This role leads security personnel, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to proactively manage risk, incident response, and emergency preparedness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive security experience required
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in healthcare or complex environments strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing security operations across the hospital, ensuring appropriate staffing, coverage, and performance.
  • Providing guidance and support to the security supervisor and officers while reinforcing expectations and policies.
  • Overseeing incident response activities, investigations, and reporting, ensuring follow‑up actions are taken.
  • Collaborating with leadership, Risk Management, and external partners on safety trends, mitigation strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinating drills, training, and response planning for emergency preparedness.
  • Serving as a leader in workplace violence prevention and campus safety initiatives.
  • Assisting with budget planning, resource allocation, and evaluating security technology and operational enhancements.
  • Modeling professionalism, calm decision‑making, and customer‑focused service to create a safe, secure, and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
