About The Position

This position is responsible for the management of security services for the Arizona Supreme Court, which includes security detail and transportation involving Justices and other members of the Court, supervision of security personnel, and providing security services, such as conducting investigations, filling in for security personnel, or assisting with a potential threatening situation. This position also develops, implements, and updates security, emergency, and fire protection plans, as well as ensures coordination with law enforcement entities and emergency personnel as needed. The Security Manager coordinates State Courts Building computerized access and security system needs with IT’s Infrastructure Operations Unit. Services provided by this position cover the Arizona State Courts Building, as well as satellite facilities in Phoenix and Tucson.

Requirements

  • Law enforcement or security training and experience equivalent to a four-year degree.
  • Five years’ experience in a related field such as law enforcement, military police, asset protection, and personal security.
  • Two years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • A valid driver's license with no major citations in the recent past.
  • Ability to conduct confidential or sensitive assignments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in effectively supervising personnel.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, written communication, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards for security procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security devices and ability to operate metal detectors, X-ray machines.
  • Skill in the use of firearms and defensive tactics.
  • Ability to travel out of town and overnight.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
