About The Position

The Security Lot Patrol Officer is responsible for the outdoor protection, safeguarding and the security of the North Fork Mono Casino & Resort's assets, Team Members, Guests, and visitors during assigned shifts. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position reports directly to the Security Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to ride a bicycle 10-20 miles a day and complete basic officers training class.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, and to handle sensitive situations with tact.
  • Excellent guest service skills, and the ability to handle guest concerns diplomatically.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, Guests, and Team Members.
  • Ability to pass firearm safety, handling, and shooting techniques. Able to obtain a BSIS firearms licensing and keep in compliance with State and Tribal firearms laws.
  • Ability to pass the qualifications for OC Spray, Baton, and Handcuffing techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High degree of integrity in performing job duties.
  • Ability to use office equipment with strong skills in Microsoft Office.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to ride a bicycle
  • Registered with California BSIS required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire).
  • Ability to pass firearms qualification and obtain an Exposed Firearms License from BSIS required (employer will provide upon hire).
  • Current First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire).
  • Current RBS certificate required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire).
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurability required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related fast-paced, guest service environment preferred.
  • Casino security experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of firearms experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency first aid or CPR when necessary.
  • Responsible for the protection of North Fork Mono Casino & Resort gaming assets and property, as well as protecting the life of those that work, do business with and visit the casino.
  • Conduct routine patrols of the parking facilities and entire casino property to maintain a visible security presence and a safe environment.
  • Respond promptly to all disturbances with the objective of de-escalating the situation.
  • Maintain constant vigilance, observing, reporting, and acting upon all suspicious or unusual situations as directed by the Security Supervisor.
  • Detect and facilitate the correction of potential safety and security hazards.
  • Actively patrols parking zones to report/address suspicious behavior.
  • Conducts daily inspections of patrol bicycle and document the condition of the bicycle, reporting any issues to the security supervisor.
  • Coordinates vehicle assistance (towing, taxi services).
  • Identifies and reports pets or minors left in vehicles.
  • Required to circulate among vehicles to deter crime and ensure site safety.
  • Operate company-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Escort authorized personnel in and out of secured areas upon request.
  • Investigate all suspicious activity, accidents, and injuries within the casino, and document findings thoroughly. Provide detailed reports promptly to the on-duty Security Supervisor or the Safety Manager for appropriate documentation and further action.
  • Document all incidents accurately and maintain an updated incident log as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Assist in conducting preliminary investigations (interviewing victims, witnesses, suspects) and support local public safety agencies as requested.
  • Maintain working knowledge of, and diligently enforce, all applicable laws, policies, and departmental procedures.
  • Uphold a high level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Provide excellent guest service to both Team Members and Guests.
  • Practice effective teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and contribute to an energized, positive work atmosphere.
  • Interact with Guests in a friendly and courteous manner and proactively address guest opportunities.
  • Maintain proper department uniform, appearance, and grooming standards.
  • Verify identification of patrons for age compliance (gaming/alcohol) and ensure proper badging procedures are followed for vendors, contractors, and Team Members.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
