About The Position

Provides support on issues related to logistics and equipment to the management of the Security Support Division and the Office of Domestic Facilities Protection. Reports directly to the Contracts, Budget, & Resources Program Manager and the SSD Division Chief.

Requirements

  • High School Education
  • Four or more years’ experience providing logistics and property management/accountability.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Applications/Programs
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to perform work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of Department of State Regulations/Policies
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of supply and logistics record keeping/management (supply/logistics forms, supplies, materials inventory, and the status report preparation.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must have a current US Government TOP SECRET Personnel Security Clearance
  • Must have a current US Government Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (less than 4-1/2 years old) or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Single Scope Background Investigation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain required Security Clearance/access approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Supports vendor price quote solicitation and preparation of statements of work for office supply orders and support contracts.
  • Provides logistical and general support by performing any and all tasks associated with receiving, unpacking, storing, assembling and issuing supplies, materials and equipment.
  • Inspects received/delivered goods, maintains inventory/logistics records, and allocates storage space, and/or delivers those goods and materials to the Receiving Office.
  • Maintains storage areas in a neat and clean condition.
  • Travels to DFP facilities to provide guidance and logistical support to all locations.
  • Monitors depletion rate of supplies, materials and equipment. Notifies supervisor when replenishment and/or repairs and maintenance is required. Takes follow-up action, as directed, to assure a prompt and proper receipt of items.
  • Assists the Principal Custodial Officer (PCO) in conducting and planning annual inventories reconciling equipment assigned to DFP facilities.
  • Conducts an annual utilization survey to assure proper care and effective utilization of property, to ensure that property is in serviceable condition and to identify underutilized property for reassignment within the departments.
  • Initiates Form DS-1882 (Domestic Property Excess) for unneeded, non-expendable property to be reported to proper organization and authorizes the removal of property, if necessary.
  • Maintain and validate Form DS-584 Property Transactions.
  • Maintains and services all DS/DO/DFP/SSD vehicles.
  • Performs IT support (trouble shoots – printers, copiers, CPU’s, digital senders and installs IT equipment). Supports mobile devices – Blackberry, cell phone.
  • Assists DS/MGT/LSDS/MGT/CAP/DS/CTO/SMD/CAP.
  • Develops and implements procedures for routine maintenance and safety inspections of equipment used by DFP, conducts routine maintenance, and coordinates proper shipment of equipment requiring second line maintenance, repair or replacement to repair facilities in the US.
  • Advises SSD and DFP management on major projects and improvements to supply and logistics processes.
