About The Position

Orlando Health is seeking an experienced Security Lieutenant to lead Security Officers on assigned shifts and help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, team members, and guests. As a first-line leader, the Security Lieutenant serves as an operational escalation point responsible for shift supervision, incident response, training support, accountability, and ensuring consistency in daily security operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum four (4) years of security, law enforcement, military security, corrections, or related public safety experience
• Must obtain and maintain Florida Class “D” Security Officer License
• Must obtain and maintain CPI Certification
• Must obtain and maintain IAHSS Basic Certification or higher

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Healthcare security experience preferred
• Must obtain IAHSS Supervisor Certification within 12 months of promotion or appointment

Responsibilities

• Supervise Security Officers and coordinate daily shift operations
• Respond to and manage significant incidents and emergency situations
• Conduct shift briefings and support officer training and development
• Assist with emergency preparedness drills and incident command activities
• Monitor compliance with departmental procedures and hospital policies
• Support coaching, corrective action, and leadership initiatives
• Serve as backup department timekeeper
