About The Position

The successful candidate will be able to operate independently and conduct investigations and write reports of matters including employee misconduct, workplace violence, and crimes against the company. Security Investigators also regularly conduct training for employees on security-related topics. The successful candidate will have established effective relationships with law enforcement in the assigned area and be able to quickly develop additional relationships with other government agencies and community organizations. The successful candidate will be expected to establish necessary liaison relationships at PG&E facilities and law enforcement agencies in the assigned areas of Merced, Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Kings and Tulare County while developing a working familiarity with PG&E’s business and physical infrastructure. The candidate may also assist with executive protection, emergency response to wildfires, and Public Safety Power Shutoffs as temporary assignments. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Fresno, CA based on business needs or company requirements.

Requirements

8years prior law enforcement to include three years of investigative experience
High school diploma or GED
CCW-Concealed Carry Weapon license, California
CA Class C License, or equivalent
Must be able to qualify for NERC/CIP clearance

Nice To Haves

BA/BS degree in Criminology, Police Science, Criminal Justice Administration
Ability to complete and/or oversee a comprehensive investigation
Ability to author a comprehensive report of investigation
Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in written and verbal form
Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate with various levels of bargaining units and management employees
Ability to manage a caseload and to prioritize the immediate needs of business clients
Proactive self-starter and the flexibility to support the Security Investigations team
Ability to self-manage time and workload to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to manage a separate security program for which the Corporate Security department has lead responsibility

Responsibilities

Conduct the full spectrum of internal and external investigations, including employee misconduct, workplace violence, substance abuse, threats, and criminal activity impacting company personnel or assets
Gather, analyze, and document evidence; conduct interviews and prepare clear, thorough investigative reports suitable for management review and potential legal proceedings.
Coordinate closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and develop trusted liaison relationships within assigned jurisdictions.
Partner with internal stakeholders, including Human Resources, Legal, Physical Security, and Operations, to support risk mitigation and resolution strategies.
Provide security awareness training and briefings to employees and management on relevant security topics.
Support emergency response activities and special security assignments as required, which may include temporary duty assignments.
Maintain familiarity with company facilities, business operations, and physical infrastructure within the assigned area of responsibility.
Manage multiple investigations simultaneously while prioritizing business risk and operational needs.
Negotiate with hostile customers and landowners to allow access to PG&E equipment and responsiblities.
Be available 24/7 to respond to security incidents.
Be available to supplement the security assignments throughout the enterprise.
Be available to respond to natural disaster incidents, such as wildfires and earthquakes, and have a working knowledge of the Incident Command System.
