This position will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems to include the wiring, equipment and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients. The role involves installing cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company, and customer guidelines. The installer will use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation, read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittits, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals. Responsibilities also include readjusting equipment, repairing or replacing inoperative equipment, testing for operation, and performing system checks. The role requires knowledge of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; CCTV and access control systems; and media storage. The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work with close attention to detail, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and establish cooperative working relationships is essential. The installer must be able to analyze information, work unsupervised, be self-motivated, and complete all necessary job-related paperwork. Additionally, the role involves feeding cables through various spaces, positioning and terminating cables, drilling holes for wiring, and conducting end-user training. Troubleshooting issues with customer networks is also a part of the job.
