About The Position

The North Carolina Aquariums at Pine Knoll Shores is seeking a dynamic, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Security Guard. The Security Guard Provides front-line customer services to all visitors; greets school and bus tour groups, assists with parking and unloading of groups. Ensures safety of guests, staff, facility and animals.

Requirements

Must have experience working with the general public and have excellent customer service skills.
Working knowledge with the use of a two-way communication system and/or security surveillance system.
Must be CPR and First Aid Certified or have the ability to obtain certification for employment.
Working knowledge of standard safety and security operations at a customer service-oriented facility
Working knowledge of documenting standard methods of handling and reporting emergencies
Must have security experience
Weekend, evening, and holiday work will be required.
Must meet DNCR Fleet Safety Guidelines and have ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license issued from within the United States or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to pull/push table carts.
Recommended candidate will be subject to a background check prior to hiring.

Responsibilities

Provides information and assistance to visitors; handles visitor complaints and problems; identifies safety issues, maintains visitor accident log, investigates visitor accidents and injuries.
Opens and secures building at the beginning and end of each day; provides presence in all areas of the Aquarium and grounds.
Provides special events and after-hours facility rental security and event support.
