As an Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocols and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

Be at least 20 years of age (for unarmed roles)
Possess a valid Driver's License (required for driving positions)
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to pass a background check and investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Ability to pass a physical exam
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Meet licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations prior to employment

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift more than 20 lbs
Comfort using a computer or tablet
A guard card or license
Customer service experience

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through proper channels when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter access points to help identify unusual activity and/or policy violations.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help support authorized access procedures and report maintenance, operational, and/or security-related concerns.
Document observations, incidents, and/or interactions in required reports while communicating with site contacts, visitors, and public agency personnel in a professional manner.
