About The Position

Guardteck Security is hiring individuals with transferable skills who are interested in starting a career in security. No prior security experience or licence is required — we will support you through Basic Security Training (BST) certification and help you begin your career as a professional security officer. This opportunity is ideal for people with experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or other public-facing roles who want to transition into security and build meaningful workplace skills. Selected candidates will be supported to complete BST certification as well as obtain their BC Security Worker License once the training program is available. Guardteck will help you through the process so you can launch your security career with confidence and credibility. Requirements

• Experience in customer service or other public-facing environments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable spending time on your feet and engaging with the public
• Willingness to complete BST certification and obtain a BC Security Worker License
• Professional appearance and conduct
• Reliable transportation depending on the site location
• No prior security license or experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional security presence at assigned sites
• Conduct foot patrols and observe assigned areas
• Monitor access points and report irregularities
• Engage professionally with tenants, visitors, and the public
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and safety concerns
• Complete basic incident reports and daily logs
• Interact with supervisors and site teams to support site safety
