About The Position

As a Security Guard - Part Time Downtown in West Palm Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government location, you will monitor entry points, screen people and property, and support a professional environment through visible presence, strong communication, and attentive service. You will help to identify security-related concerns, follow site procedures, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative Allied Universal team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree in criminal justice.
Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
Be at least 21+ years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
Screen visitors, staff, and/or vendors entering the location using assigned screening equipment and established inspection procedures for prohibited items.
Verify identification, visitor credentials, and/or authorized access permissions while maintaining accurate logs and reporting unusual activity through proper channels.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or first responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, entry points, and surrounding assigned locations to help identify security-related concerns and/or policy violations.
