About The Position
Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- MUST Ontario Security Guard License
- MUST Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- MUST Have the ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to drag a 30kg barrier, 5m distance

- Security Clearance Requirement: Reliable upgradeable to Secret
- Potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
- Guards are responsible for lowering and raising gate arms between 2100hrs to 0600hrs daily.
- Peak Period ID Checks are completed randomly
- Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
- Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
- Maintain effective communication
- Maintain professionalism at all times, during all interactions.
- Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
