About The Position

As a Security Guard Licensed Access Patrol in East Elmhurst, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control activities, interact with residents and visitors, and deliver strong customer service through clear communication. Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a shelter environment.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting concerns through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe resident and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, offering directions, assistance, and security-related support as needed.
• Support staff with de-escalation awareness, maintain a visible presence throughout the location, and communicate professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds during routine and high-activity situations.
