About The Position

The Security Guard is responsible for the security of Altasciences buildings, which includes monitoring both buildings via the security camera system, performing rounds onsite, and managing contractor and visitor arrivals and departures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Valid BSP security officer permit may be required, depending on location.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook and Teams.
• Experience with Facility Security Software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Well developed interpersonal skills are required.
• Personal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and against time constraints.
• Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities.
• Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate security needs.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant industry experience a plus.
• Bilingual proficiency in French may be required, depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Monitors equipment systems for possible alarms and failures.
• Dispatches and receives external service providers for critical systems & equipment failures and repairs.
• Patrol premises to ensure they are secure.
• May need to navigate ladders for rooftop access, depending on site.
• Monitor security camera system for all buildings to spot or prevent thefts or other unlawful activity.
• Ensure all safety measures are in place to protect the establishment, equipment and personnel.
• Monitors the parking gates in the evening hours.
• Manage contractor and visitor process, including check-in, host notification, and check-out.
• Other duties as assigned.
