About The Position

Charter Oak Health Center is seeking a Security Guard to join our team. The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors at the health center. The Security Guard plays a critical role in fostering a welcoming and secure environment. Requirements

  • Knowledge of relevant public safety codes and security procedure.
  • Attention to environment and premises as well as attention to small details.
  • Sufficient verbal and written communications skills to perform the tasks required.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Ability to deal professionally with patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Ability to respect patients including those who have impaired cognition.
  • High school graduate or GED
  • One to two years experience as security personnel.
  • Flexibility to work days, weekends and evenings as required.
  • Flexibility to work at multiple sites.
  • Connecticut driver’s license required.
  • Active guard card issued by the State of Connecticut

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-Lingual preferred (Spanish) but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points permitting entry.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities.
  • Informing violators of the health center's policies and procedures around safety and security.
  • Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
  • Enabling security system and lights in health center, ensuring safe staff entry and exit.
  • Secure and lock properties at the close of business.
  • Implement the instruction for emergency evacuations as instructed by the Director of Facilities.
  • Work according to the schedule decided at the weekly department staff meeting.
  • Attend the department and all staff meetings.
  • Comply with company’s mission, Infection Control, OSHA, and DPH rules and regulation.
  • Must maintain appropriate attendance.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.
