About The Position

Shamin Hotels is one of the largest and fastest-growing hotel management companies, and is seeking a dedicated Overnight Security Guard for our beautiful Hilton Hotel in Virginia Beach to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests and associates. The Hotel Security Guard plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property within the hotel environment. Their presence, vigilance, and proactive approach to security contribute to the overall well-being and peace of mind of everyone within the premises.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with hotels and food & beverage establishments.
• Strong teamwork, observation skills and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high-stress situations
• Must be dependable, professional, and have a high level of integrity
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, and safety regulations.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and lift objects for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field (preferred).
• Valid security guard license or certification as required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises, including guest floors, lobby areas, parking lots, and other designated areas.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to detect and deter suspicious activities or unauthorized access.
• Remain vigilant and alert to potential security threats or safety hazards.
• Control access to the hotel by monitoring entrances, exits, and access points.
• Verify the identity of individuals entering the premises and ensure that only authorized personnel and guests are granted entry.
• Enforce hotel policies regarding visitor registration, guest check-in, and key card access.
• Provide assistance and support to guests and employees in need, including escorting guests to their rooms or vehicles, providing directions, and responding to inquiries.
• Assist with guest room lockouts, lost items, or medical emergencies as needed.
• Serve as a point of contact for guests and employees to report security concerns or incidents.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies such as fights, medical emergencies, or fire alarms.
• Assess the situation, take appropriate action to de-escalate conflicts or hazards, and alert emergency responders or law enforcement if necessary.
• Document security incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed incident reports.
• Identify potential security risks or vulnerabilities within the hotel premises and report them to management.
• Implement security measures and protocols to mitigate risks and enhance safety.
• Conduct security assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
• Collaborate with hotel staff, management, and external partners such as law enforcement agencies or emergency services to address security concerns and coordinate response efforts.
• Communicate effectively with guests, employees, and other stakeholders to provide information, instructions, and assistance as needed.
