As a Security Guard Shopping Mall in Elmont, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a retail mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to concerns, and support a welcoming environment. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, tenants, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed by site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents according to site procedures.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
