About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard - Open Availability in Davenport, Iowa. The position provides reliable hours at an assigned site, with the option to claim additional shifts through a scheduling platform. The role requires a six-month commitment to a designated site and weekly anchor shift. Employees may pick up shifts at multiple sites and can work toward a schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to scale back. The position is described as part-time.

The schedule listed is Wednesday and Thursday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.80 per hour. The guard provides customer service at a technology-focused location and carries out security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter, and identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate incident, patrol, and shift documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership about security observations, incidents, and operational needs.
