As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Gatehouse in North Kingstown, RI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, which is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, and supporting authorized entry and exit at designated locations.
• Monitor access points, screen visitors, issue passes when appropriate, and document arrivals, departures, and security-related concerns according to post instructions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and other security-related issues.
• Complete required reports and logs related to access activity, incidents, and daily operations while supporting Allied Universal standards and client expectations.
