About The Position

Adamas Building Services is seeking a professional, alert, and physically capable Security Officer to work in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. The role requires a confident, commanding, and professional presence, strong customer service, sound judgment, and situational awareness. The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and orderly property, including managing challenging or confrontational interactions and de-escalating conflicts. The schedule is open, and pay is $21 per hour.

Valid New Jersey security credentials or applicable licensing, as required for the position.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and non-traditional holidays.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must pass a comprehensive background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous security, loss prevention, law enforcement, military, or related experience.
Experience in crowd management, access control, or handling confrontational situations.

Responsibilities

Maintain a visible, professional security presence throughout the assigned property.
Monitor access points, enforce property policies, and help prevent unauthorized access.
Respond promptly and appropriately to disturbances, conflicts, and security incidents.
Use verbal de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques to manage difficult interactions.
Maintain confidence and composure when dealing with aggressive, disruptive, or uncooperative individuals.
Conduct routine patrols and remain attentive to safety and security concerns.
Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate relevant concerns to management.
Assist residents, visitors, employees, and guests while maintaining appropriate security boundaries.
Follow established emergency response procedures and company protocols.
Stand for extended periods, conduct foot patrols, and work at a fixed post.
Prioritize tasks according to importance in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain a professional appearance and comply with the prescribed uniform policy.
