About The Position

Responsible for surveillance and protection of the Rincon clinic. Monitors and protects industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current California Guard Card (or attain within 6 months of hire).
  • Current AED CPR certification or attainment within 6 months of hire.
  • Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam, tuberculin skin test or x-ray and urine drug screen test.
  • Health must be adequate to perform all duties of the position.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Knowledge of security and surveillance best practices.
  • Knowledge of healthcare facilities and tribal communities.
  • Skilled in investigative procedures.
  • Skilled in completing reports and keeping data logs.
  • Ability to observe suspicious or abnormal activity.
  • Ability to resolve conflict; de-escalate crisis situations.
  • Productivity Software: Microsoft Office 365; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email & Calendar Management (outlook), Teams (video conferencing and meetings), and Share Point.
  • Utilization of Paycom, Relias Learning, and PolicyTech systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred.
  • 1-year security/surveillance experience preferred.
  • Will consider applicants with no security experience if applicant is able to meet other job requirements.
  • 3+ years’ experience surveilling and protecting in healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol, periodically, building and ground of IHC property.
  • Perform crisis response and conflict resolution.
  • Examine doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and report to the proper authorities’ persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Provide navigation services to designated patients.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to ascertain if malfunction or tampering has occurred.
  • Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
  • Sound alarm or call the police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and direct them to the appropriate check-in office.
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.
  • Write incident reports, route logs and inspection logs.
  • Act as back up for housekeeping team when needed.
  • Ensure that thermostatic controls are maintained to specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms.
  • Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at clinic entrance to maintain orderly flow.
  • Provide security at onsite clinic events.
  • Respond to after-hours alarm calls.
  • Position may be re-assigned during activation of EOP.
