About The Position

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding properties, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring the safety of the business, their staff, and their customers. Officers are responsible for greeting guests and checking them into the dispensary system as well as checking IDs. Officers are responsible for ensuring safety and security of the site and preventing theft. Your role requires vigilance, strong decision-making, and excellent communication skills to handle security incidents effectively. This site may experience occasional interaction with unhoused individuals who pass through or attempt to use facility amenities. There is also a known unhoused population in the surrounding area. These interactions are typically non-confrontational but require professionalism, awareness, and the ability to enforce site policies respectfully.

Requirements

Valid BSIS Guard Card (required).
Current with BSIS Compliance i.e: 8-Hour Initial Training Certificate
32-hour continuing education certificates
Experience working graveyard shifts.
Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine patrols to monitor and secure designated locations.
Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety.
Respond swiftly to incidents and provide support in emergency situations.
Document daily activity, incidents, and observations accurately in reports.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding security updates and concerns.
