About The Position

As the Security Guard, you will have the opportunity to be the first point of contact for those entering the Remington Ammunition site, including regulatory officials and law enforcement. You will direct those unfamiliar with the site to their destination and escalate issues by following established protocols. This role involves making foot and/or vehicle-assisted rounds, performing various compliance inspections under environmental, safety, and security mandated programs, and monitoring camera systems, alarm panels, and badge reading equipment. You will also act as emergency coordinators and first responders to significant spills or environmental incidents, watch for spills, leaks, fires, theft, and vandalism, and check gates to ensure they are closed and/or locked if appropriate. Additionally, you will be a first responder to accidents, emergencies, and/or crisis situations, investigate vehicle/traffic accidents on site, check badges of employees accessing the plant, and conduct random searches of vehicles and employees entering and exiting the plant. You will warn violators and document any infractions such as loitering, trespassing, smoking in restricted areas, and carrying forbidden articles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must possess basic mathematics skills
  • Must have valid driver’s license without restrictions
  • Must be able to pass background checks for unsupervised access to explosives (Employee Possessor)
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions
  • Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work alternate work schedules as needed
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of physical security systems
  • Must be trained in threat response within 90 days of employment
  • Must be certified in First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hire
  • Must be certified in fire extinguisher use within 90 days of employment
  • Must certify as 8-hour HAZMAT responder within six months of employment
  • U.S. citizen or national; U.S. lawful, permanent resident (a/k/a green card holder); Refugee under 8 U.S.C. Section 1157; or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. Section 1158 or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
  • Must not be convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.
  • Must not be a fugitive from justice.
  • Must not be an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance.
  • Must not have been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution.
  • Must not be an illegal alien.
  • Must not have been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions.
  • Must not have renounced United States Citizenship.
  • Must not be subject to a court order restraining the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of the intimate partner.
  • Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical diploma in law enforcement or similar
  • One year or more of prior security field experience
  • Prior law enforcement or military background
