We recognize that our diverse workforce allows us to provide culturally competent care to everyone in our community. ~ A current and valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card is required for this role ~ The Security Guard, part time is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring the premises and personnel, and by responding to security issues. Positions are available at our 206 S. Elmwood location, as well as our state-of-the-art Kensington-Bailey healthcare facility, opening soon!

Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
at least two (2) years experience working in a security role in a healthcare setting required; three (3) years preferred
candidate must have a current and valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card
must be able to communicate clearly and professionally
must have reliable transportation to travel between Evergreen locations as needed
must display professionalism and emotional control with effective observational and monitoring ability
awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential

Responsibilities

Monitors and controls the access of building entrances; circulates among visitors and employees to maintain order and protect property
Patrols premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter
Enforces security and safety procedures and regulations
Escorts visitors, patients, and staff out of the building as requested or required
Monitors surveillance equipment (where applicable) to detect, deter, and report all issues and increase overall safety in the facility
Responds to emergency and crisis situations
Works security for special programming or agency-sponsored events upon request
In emergency situations, assesses the potential for disturbance or danger and takes appropriate action to reduce threats, including alerting first responders
