Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and individuals receiving services by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, behavioral concerns, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor and staff activity, and report unusual conditions, hazards, or policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with site requirements.
