About The Position

As the Security Guard, you will have the opportunity to be the first point of contact for those entering the Remington Ammunition site, including regulatory officials and law enforcement. You will direct those unfamiliar with the site to their destination and escalate issues by following established protocols. Responsibilities include making foot and/or vehicle-assisted rounds, performing various compliance inspections under environmental, safety, and security mandated programs, and monitoring camera, alarm panels, and badge reading equipment. You will also act as emergency coordinators and first responders to significant spills or environmental incidents, watch for spills, leaks, fires, and vandalism, and check gates to ensure they are closed and/or locked if appropriate. This role involves being the first responder to accidents, emergency and/or crisis situations, and investigating vehicle/traffic accidents on site. Additionally, you will check employee badges for plant access and conduct random searches of vehicles and employees entering and exiting the plant. You will warn violators and document infractions such as loitering, trespassing, smoking in restricted areas, and carrying forbidden articles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must possess basic mathematics skills
  • Must have valid driver’s license without restrictions
  • Must be able to pass background checks for unsupervised access to explosives (Employee Possessor)
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions
  • Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work alternate work schedules as needed
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of physical security systems

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical diploma in law enforcement or similar
  • One year or more of prior security field experience
  • Prior law enforcement or military background
