About The Position

Armorous Security, voted Best Security Company in the North Bay, is seeking a Security Guard for a retail dispensary in San Francisco, CA. New hires who are fully BSIS compliant (valid BSIS Guard Card, 8-hour initial training certificate, and 32-hour continuing education certificate) are eligible for a $100 hiring bonus. This assignment is in the soft opening phase, with schedules expected to expand as the dispensary moves toward full operations. Officers who perform well during this phase are well-positioned for expanded schedules. The primary function is access control and ID verification, serving as the first point of contact and setting a professional, observant, and consistent tone.

Requirements

• Valid BSIS Security Guard Registration (California)
• Must be over 21 years of age
• Current BSIS compliance, including 8-hour initial training certificate and 32-hour continuing education certificate
• Availability to work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Ability to stand and remain alert for the duration of your shift
• Demonstrated reliability: on time, in uniform, and ready to work

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 1 year of prior security experience
• Prior experience in retail, dispensary, or high-volume public-facing environments
• Familiarity with ID verification standards and access control procedures
• Experience in loss prevention is a plus

Responsibilities

• Verify valid government-issued ID for every person entering the dispensary, without exception.
• Control access to the retail floor and ensure only authorized individuals enter.
• Monitor the entrance and lobby area throughout your shift.
• Maintain a visible, professional presence that deters unauthorized activity.
• Document access incidents, visitor refusals, and any notable observations in a written log.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, staff, and management.
• Respond calmly to any access disputes or customer concerns at the door.
