About The Position
Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 with a mandate to provide meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. CGL serves Central and Southwestern Ontario, offering customized security solutions including uniformed guards, mobile response, by-law enforcement, and identification services. They are currently seeking a Commissionaire for an existing vacancy to join their growing team. The role emphasizes commitment to client and employee needs to enhance organizational success.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
- Mandatory – Be able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must have good email communication skills
- Strong communication and computer skills are required
- Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up-to 25lbs
- Highly reliable
- Work well under pressure
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask
- Professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of working in college or university environment will be considered as an asset
Responsibilities
- Access control
- CCTV monitoring
- Reception duties- responding to queries from the students or guests
- Conduct foot patrols in both indoor and outdoor areas.
- Locking and securing doors after hours - ensure no individual is on-site after hours
- Respond to emails in a professional and timely manner
