About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with the MS Office suite
  • Ability to learn and operate security management and CRM software.
  • Proficiency in using MS Teams and One Note
  • Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
  • Excellent customer service and reception skills

Nice To Haves

  • Police Foundations diploma
  • Post Secondary Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Execute screening procedures for personnel, equipment, and material entering and leaving the site, ensuring the Client's property is secured.
  • Monitor network video systems.
  • Perform access control alarm monitoring and response.
  • Manage access card printing and distribution.
  • Create and verify contractor access tickets and provide escort as required.
  • Execute asset management procedures in accordance with Post Orders.
  • Execute key management procedures in accordance with Post Orders.
  • Conduct property patrols of client locations in accordance with site instructions.
  • Liaise with Police, Fire, and EMS as appropriate during incidents.
  • Complete patrol and incident reports using reporting software and paper reports as required.
  • Maintain professionalism at all times during interactions.
  • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Be available to adjust your schedule as required to support the needs of the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager
