About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard - Union - Flexible in Chicago, Illinois, at a logistics and distribution location. The position provides customer service while carrying out site security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. The role has a designated site and weekly anchor shift that requires a six-month commitment. Employees may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust their schedule as needed. The advertised pay rate is $19.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and contractors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen personnel, visitors, hand-carried items, and authorized materials according to site procedures and applicable requirements.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established post instructions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including operational spaces, loading areas, access points, and the perimeter, as directed by site procedures.
