As a Security Guard Commercial Building Patrol in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with appropriate personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, entrances, lobbies, corridors, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
- Monitor access points and verify identification, visitor information, and/or authorized entry in accordance with site policies and government location requirements.
- Support daily operations by reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations, while maintaining a professional presence and following Allied Universal standards.
