Requirements

• Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to ride a bike.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Riding a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Being able to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and request assistance from appropriate campus resources as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence halls exteriors, parking areas, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
• Monitor access points and common areas for unusual activity, help to deter unauthorized entry, and support guest and contractor sign-in and/or verification requirements when assigned.
• Complete detailed shift reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management, and assist with security-related post orders and special event coverage as needed.
